I'm back!

One month ago, I decided to take a break from blogging. With so much stuff on my plate at the time, I had no choice but to let some things ago, at least temporarily. Among those things was blogging; simply put, writing a thousand words every week can be very time consuming, and time is something that I simply did not have as I went into the month of November.

A couple of things transpired in the following weeks. I will list them here briefly just to give you guys an idea of what I have been up to.

  • I went to CNH Circle K’s Fall Training Conference up in Sonora, California. It was something that I had planned on attending since I had learned about it earlier in the year, and it was an absolute blast. We left on a Friday at 4 p.m. and drove all the way up to NorCal from Orange County. We got there at two in the morning, and I think I slept for maybe an hour (some genius thought it would be a great idea to play some Smash before going to bed… that genius being me) before waking up and going out to enjoy the day’s festivities. I was involved in UCI’s campfire skit too, which I bet can be found somewhere on the interwebs at this point.
  • I participated in UCI’s third annual Med AppJam, a two-week long competition in which each team must create an iPhone app from scratch. The theme this year was patient/clinician interaction, and so my team went hard at work creating a newsfeed-style communication platform to help keep doctors and patients updated on their personal healthplans. Our app was called MedLight, and though we did not win, I did end up creating my first iPhone app – and learned a brand new programming language (Swift) in two weeks.
  • My computer architecture class is, at this point, completely broken, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. If you can imagine a perfectly normal class to be a small street through the woods, this class is a car that has gone off the road and down a ditch, flipped over five times, and burst into flames. There were two weeks in this course in which we literally learned nothing, because the professor finally realized that having a class average of 35% on the second quiz of the quarter probably means we don’t really understand what he's talking about.
  • I have been planning a 24-hour video game marathon with my Circle K club. I’ll post more info about it shortly.

With FTC over and Med AppJam completed, it is time to finally get back into the groove of things. I will be posting a number of blogs within the next few days that I hope you all will enjoy, so stay tuned! Aside from that, however, I must say that I am glad to be back, so let’s get things going!

So tell me, my fellow MyIGNers. How was your November? Played any great games? I just started Skyrim and Smash 3DS again, and they are still fantastic!
