So long, at least for now...

First off, I would like to apologize for not being on MyIGN more often for the past several weeks. As of writing, I am currently finishing up my fourth week as a sophomore at university, and needless to say I have been much busier than I have anticipated. Yesterday was my first break in a long time, and as the weekend rolls around I thought I would give you guys an update on how I have been doing.

So yes, I am a bit stressed out at the moment. Well, overwhelmed is probably the best word to describe it. Usually, I am pretty good at organizing my time, but it becomes an issue when I have so little time to do whatever I want. For starters, I have been trying to get more involved in the clubs that I am a part of, namely Circle K (a community service club) and The Navigators (a Christian fellowship). I have also become an ICS lab tutor as of late; as many of you know, I am a Computer Science major, and now I get to help all the cute little freshmen learn how to program for the first time – though to be honest most of the people I have helped are second-years like me. The result is about ten extra hours of my week gone due to those three things alone, but that is not even the main source of my stress.

The crux of my problem is a class I am taking called ICS 51: Introductory Computer Organization. It is, in essence, an introductory computer hardware class. Hardware, in case you did not know, is not something I particularly enjoy. I think it is interesting, and certainly useful for a computer scientist like me, but I tend to enjoy actual programming a lot more than figuring the basic electronics of a PC. What is worse that this is the first time my professor is teaching this course, and there is almost no communication between him and the TA’s. I am not making this up – the professor says the TA’s make the quizzes, and the TA’s say the professor makes them. So who is making the quizzes? Whoever it is needs to wizen up, because half the stuff on those exams was topics not even covered in lecture.

All of this combined to make these past few weeks some of the more stressful weeks I have experienced. And that is not all; I have a leadership conference to go to next week, and that is most certainly going to take a huge chunk out of my weekend. Thus, given the break I had yesterday, I decided to reevaluate my values and start reorganizing my life. This is where MyIGN comes in.

As of today, I am going to take a one month break from blogging. Those who have followed me for a while know that I used to take blogging breaks a month before AP exams in high school, but since then I have yet to take another one. I think now is a good time to take a breather, especially considering how the crazy the gaming industry has become in the past few months. I will still be posting up MPL updates and the DS Games Master List in the coming weeks, but aside from that I do not plan to have anything published in the next 30 days.

That is all! I do have a few surprises planned for you guys, some of which I will be revealing very soon, but thank you all for reading and I hope to see you guys again in December!
