An achievement, an accomplishment, and an announcement, all in one!

A few interesting things have transpired since the year began.

First off, I am now officially an IGN All-Star (in case the title did not give it away)! For those who do not know, the IGN All-Star program is meant to, according to the wiki, “recogniz[e] and reward… the folks who best represent [IGN’s] community through their involvement and contributions.” And for that, I am thankful and happy that even after over two and a half years on this site, people still enjoy the content I pump out on a weekly basis.

Oh, and I should mention, if you believe YOU should be an All-Star, do not be afraid to apply here!

Aside from that, I have also discovered that I have surpassed over 10000 upvotes on my Disqus profile. Considering I only use Disqus for IGN, I guess that means people here like what I say… or at least pretend to. I always strive to be a positive influence on this community, and even though there are indeed a few things I regret saying (hey, everyone makes mistakes!), it is good to see that my comments are generally well received. Of course, that number does not compare to those of the many people on this site that have been here for far longer than I have.

Unfortunately, that number has been reset due to yet another thing that happened to me this past month, and that thing is… I am now a comment moderator for IGN! A bit of a side note: I was actually surprised when I got the email inviting me to become a comment mod because, in between the time I applied and the time I was accepted, I got terribly ill for about three weeks, and as a result my activity on this site dropped significantly.

But behold, I am now a mod, alongside several other of my fellow MyIGNers. It has been quite busy thus far, and overall it has been a fun experience, so I hope to continue to serve this community that gave back to me so many times in the past.

A side note to my mod buddies on Skype. I am so sorry I am unable to get in touch with you guys. Skype, and I have mentioned this multiple times in the past, just does not want to work on neither my laptop nor my iPhone. It crashes, refuses to open, and updates only once every four hours. Now I remember why I stopped using Skype in the first place...

Oh, and one more thing. I got my first piece of fan mail the other day! For context, this is the piece she is referring to. Check it out:

Dear Bryce,

I really enjoyed reading your article in the latest issue of the New U. I found it really thought-provoking. At first, I sided with the family, but was soon came to understand the hospital's side. Of all of the articles that I've read in the past New U - I have read all of the issues form Volume 47 thus far - yours has to be my favorite. I also really enjoyed your voice on the issue. It was subtley persuasive, which i always enjoy. My favorite part of the article was that insightful question at the end "...for which side would you prefer to be on: the side that hopes for life or the side that concedes to death?" It is because of this question that I decided to write my praises to you.

Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to reading more of your articles in the future.

Truly,

Krystal

Anyways, that is all I have for today. I am currently in the middle of midterms this quarter (must… keep… 4.0… GPA…) and things got a lot busier than usual, so this is all I could muster up for now. Thanks for sticking around, guys. Have a wonderful 2014!

Cheers,

~Bryce
