High school seniors + Super Mario = AWESOMENESS.

So a lot of stuff happened last week. For one, my blog got featured on the front page again and all hell broke loose in the comment section. That was definitely interesting...

But this past week, I've been busy with another thing, and that thing is SPIRIT WEEK! Yes, these past few months I've been super busy getting stuff together for Spirit Week, and these past several days have been super hectic, which explains why I haven't been online all that often recently.

What is Spirit Week, you might ask? In most American high schools, it's a week of pure fun and games between classes in an effort to promote school unity and spirit. In order to accomplish this, each class must come up with a number of items which will be judged during Spirit Week for points. Whichever class has the most points in the end "wins" Spirit Week. Where I go, school spirit is determined by points earned in each of the following categories per class: dress, decoration, skit, dance, film/commercial, and cheer.

So, you may be asking yourself why I'm writing about this on MyIGN. After all, I don't really write much about my school/social life here, so why now? Here, let me answer. Each year, there is a different theme that all classes must follow when it comes to accomplishing their tasks. Last year the theme was Pixar movies. The year before that it was classic cartoons. And the year before that, it was movie trilogies.

This year, though, the theme is "video games." Which, of course, is the best theme ever.

Below you'll find a bunch of pictures and videos of me, my friends, and all the festivities that took place this week. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the picture of me dressed up as a ghetto version of Knuckles (sorry 81jono81!) but that's all right... I have plenty of stuff to cover already! So let's get started, shall we?

First, I'd like to introduce you guys to our decoration walls. Each class had to decorate their part of the wall with stuff related to their chosen video game. So yes, let me introduce you guys to the Freshmen wall (Sonic), Sophomore wall (Zelda), and Junior wall (Angry Birds)..

But of course the best class is best saved for last, and that would be my Senior Class of 2013! Check out our Mario-themed wall!

Me and my decorations crew!

You won't believe how much time it takes to make these wall posters. Everything on these things are hand-drawn and hand-painted. It literally took MONTHS of hard work to get all this stuff done!

Of course, that's not all Spirit Week is about. Check out all the other stuff my class did!

Here's our class skit. It's about Mario and Luigi trying to get a homecoming date for Bowser. Really cute and charming!

And here's our Mario Kart car insurance commercial, complete with some cheap green-screening!

And finally, our dance. Of course, it's set to Mario music!

Here's our dance from a different view!

We also took the time to decorate our entire school and turning it into Mario Land. Some of us even spent the night at school to get all the decorating done! (Click on each image to enlarge.)

Rainbow Road at the front of the school!

Chalk drawings of Mario... they&#Array;re everywhere!

Clouds line the side of our gym...

...and a Piranha Plant! Woah!

Some other things scattered around...

What&#Array;s Mario without mushrooms?

And of course, the lowly Boo.

So there you have it, my excuse for not being active on MyIGN these past few days. Couple Spirit Week with Homecoming Dance and you've got a pretty damn tired Battlestriker123.

Oh, and one more thing... I got a new header! Art was done by my friend MochiTsunami over at DeviantArt, who also played a major role in the Mario decorations above! Go give her page a visit and maybe buy a couple of her stuff; she's going off to Africa this summer for some charity work and it would be awesome if you could help her out.

Keep it cool, guys! ;D
