Here's my list. What's on yours?

Author's Note: As many of you probably already know, this list is an April Fools joke meant to only serve for entertainment purposes. This list in no way reflects the way that I think or feel and therefore by all means should not be taken seriously. Enjoy this list and have a wonderful April! :D

Some characters are optional. Like Wolf; I mean, who the hell cares about him? But there are some characters that are absolutely necessary, characters that are required in order to drive the Smash Bros. series forward. Like Bowser in Melee, a character that undoubtedly brought in a ton of sales and was important enough to be placed smack on the front cover. And how about Metaknight in Brawl? Yup, he was pretty damn important. And that's the reason why I decided to write this blog. The idea of "required" characters is something that we don't think about very often. And to help you get a better feeling of what "required" characters are, here are the top 5 characters that I feel are "required" to be in Smash Bros. 4.

5. Birdo

Unlike most Nintendo characters, Birdo has little to no personality. She's been... er.... he's been in many of Mario's adventures, yet we have no idea where the hell he came from, why the hell he lays eggs, and why there's a robotic clone of her. Because Smash Bros. is very well known in establishing a back-story for its characters, Birdo would be a perfect fit for Smash Bros. 4. Plus, he's a transexual. Gotta represent!

ADORABLE!

4. Dark Pit

Have you played Kid Icarus: Uprising? If you had, you'd know that Dark Pit is a pretty bad-ass character. Have you ever wanted to play as him? Well with Smash Bros. 4, now you can! And the best part is? Nintendo could just use the same moves as normal Pit has! That's less work for them, which means shorter development time for the game, and an earlier release for us! Everybody wins!

Wayyyy cooler than Pit!

3. Katniss

With the block-buster hit known to us as The Hunger Games, Nintendo would be stupid to not include the book/movie's main character Katniss into Smash Bros. 4. Without a doubt, Katniss' appearance would generate tons and tons of sales from gamers and non-gamers alike. She would also be the first movie-only character to appear in a Smash Bros. game! Her inclusion would signify Nintendo's willingness to embrace characters from places other than just games. Yeah, think about it that way and see if you agree with me.

Blockbuster Movie = Blockbuster Game

2. L-Block

Tetris is such an iconic franchise. It's inclusion with the original Nintendo Game Boy no doubt helped the handheld become one of the most popular devices of all time. Now is the time for Nintendo to properly thank them, and what better way than to include the ever-so-popular "L-Block" (the blue one) in the growing roster of Smash Bros. characters? Yep, L-Block will shine towards older gamers and younger gamers alike, making them realize just how important Tetris is to our gaming culture.

Seriously, this guy deserves better than be neglected.

1. Nathan Drake

If Nathan Drake can do anything, why can't he duke it out with his friends at Nintendo in the next Smash Bros.? Drake's growing popularity and likable character make him a perfect fit! Not only that, but because Nathan Drake is from Nintendo's rival Sony, it would expand Nintendo's fighting series to all the Sony fanboys out there! The inclusion of such a great character can only mean good things for the series.

He&#Array;s sexy. And he knows it.

I hope you guys like my list of "required" characters that should be in Super Smash Bros. 4. I seriously think this is probably the best list I've ever made, and I hope you feel the same way. But I must ask you guys this as well: who do you think should be "required" to be in Smash Bros. 4?
